Interesting facts about Moldovian language

The idea that the Moldovian is different than the Romanian language is strongly encouraged in the Moldovian autonomous soviat socialist republic (founded in 1924). This includes the use of Cyrillic for writing. In 1932 the writing is officially changed to Latin and the spelling becomes identical to the standard Romanian. The trend is changed in 1938 when the Cyrillic writing is announced official again.
