Child declaration

According to the Bulgarian legilisation individuals under 18 years cannot go outside of Republic of Bulgaria without the explicit agreement of one of the parents. In case of a deceased parent a copy of the death certificate should be provided. Declaration of Consent or the so-called Power of Attorney for a child accompanied by one parent should be certified by the parents of the child and by a notary.

When verifying the document the birth certificate of the individual is required. In the cases when an individual under 18 years is accompanied by a third person a notarial certification should be provided and each one of the parents should sign a common or a separate declaration.
In order that you have a valid document which meets all requirements you need to:

• Fill in a form of the declaration
• Make a notarial certification
• It is a good idea that you certify another copy of the declaration so it can be used in other cases

The Customs authorities keep the Child Declaration:

• In case the Power of Attorney for Consent is translated its legalization is required in cases when the country is a part of the Hague Convention.
