The Macedonian is a South-Slavic language which is spread not only locally: lots of Turks, Vlachs and Albanians speak it. It's considered the youngest Slavic language. The linguists note its similarity with another language of the same group - the Bulgarian one. The Macedonian alphabet is created based on the Serbian cyrillic alphabet in 1944 and it includes 31 letters. It's status of a separate language is controversial and some linguists consider it as a regional form of the Bulgarian.
